Local 84 Insulators are highly trained and highly skilled in a multitude of trades, including but not limited to mechanical insulation, firestopping, asbestos and lead mitigation or abatement, sound attenuation and specialty fabrications required in custom mechanical insulation installations.
Union insulators and contractors utilize industry best practices, which make them the most qualified professionals to construct LEED certified projects. We are proud to have members who are experts in the following fields:
MECHANICAL INSULATION
Mechanical Insulation is the one item installed into a building, which starts to pay for itself as soon as the system is activated. This results in immediate energy savings and a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
FIRESTOPPING
Firestopping is a part of effective compartmentation: “boxes” built within a building or other structure to keep fire from spreading from the room of origin to other parts of the building or other structure.
Green Energy Construction
Highly trained members of Insulators Local 84 work on LEED certified buildings during new construction because our Brothers and Sisters are trained to perform the quality work needed to meet these strict certification requirements.
Specialty Fabrication
Unique, custom insulation-fabricating solutions for cutting, die-cutting, slitting or sawing can be required in project specifications, including varying degrees in temperature application, fire or noise-control insulation.
